Garlic Herb Baguette

I almost regret the day I discovered half-baked bread. Buy it from your local grocery store (I got mine from Whole Foods), get home and just pop it into the oven.. man, irresistible! Out comes a bread with the perfect consistency with the perfect crunch. Here’s just a little something I’ve been making recently as a side.. okay fine, as a main.. Garlic Herb Baguette.

Garlic Basil Baguette

Ingredients

Olive oil
4 tsp minced garlic (about 4 cloves)
3 tsp minced herb of your choice (I used basil)
8 slices half-baked baguette (you can use regular baguette too, just bake it less)

Step 1: Set your oven to broil

Step 2: Fill a cast iron skillet with olive oil until it covers the whole bottom. Add the minced garlic and basil, heating up the skillet over medium-high heat. This will bring out the flavors from the garlic and basil.

Step 3: Slice up your baguette, and lay them in the skillet. Then, flip them all over so that the other side gets coated as well.

Step 4: Put the skillet into the oven for 3-4 min, or until browned on the top. Take out the skillet, the flip the baguette slices over, and put it back in the oven for another 3-4 minutes, until that side is slightly browned as well. Remove from the oven (a sprinkle of parmesan optional), and serve!
